BRONX, NY — A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man outside an elementary school in the Bronx, police said. Diora Teal was taken into custody Monday and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the June 8 killing of Jaden Purvis.
Authorities say Purvis was shot multiple times shortly after midnight near Public School 56 Norwood Heights at East 207th Street and Decatur Avenue. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.

Investigators say the shooting took place just after midnight near the school in Norwood. Purvis was struck multiple times in the torso before medics rushed him to the hospital.
Police have not said what led up to the gunfire. The location, outside a public elementary school, has become a central detail in the case.

Teal, who lives in Norwood, was arrested Monday and faces charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. Police said this is her first arrest in New York City.
At her Bronx Criminal Court arraignment, Teal was ordered held without bail.

On Monday, police released surveillance images of two additional suspects and asked the public to help identify them. Investigators said both men were seen running from the scene wearing masks and hoodies.
Officials have not identified either man and have not said what role they may have played in the shooting.
