TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is the best, just like one of her smash hit song titles. The jukebox musical recounts Tina’s rise from a poor household to a music industry star, her loss of everything and her later life career resurgence.

Starring Nkeki Obi-Melekwe as Tina and Nick Rashad Burroughs as Ike, the sensational Broadway musical showcases the many songs Ike & Tina are known for, while also highlighting the domestic violence and abuse she was subjected to.

I would highly recommend people see TINA – The Tina Turner Musical. The cast was highly energetic with amazing vocals. The set varied throughout the show to provide context for Tina’s progress in her life. The entire theater was on its feet for the ending encore, which left us on a high note after Tina resumed her place atop the music industry.

In a CNBC interview, Obi-Melekwe noted, “I knew that when we returned, her story of resilience would be needed more than ever. Tina is ‘the queen of the comeback’ and now, coming out of the pandemic, I think we’re all working on our own personal comebacks, whatever that may be.”
