All season long, the winter track and field teams have faced immense success, winning the League Championship and placing second at Counties so far. This past week, both the girls and boys teams took the Section 1 winter track and field title at The Armory on February 8th.

Both teams obtained a huge lead at Sectionals with first places in the boys 1000m (Ellis Goodson), the 300m (Davis Patterson), the 4×800 relay (JW Henningson, Ian Gegenwarth, Andrew Jensen, and Kieran McBride), pole vault (Max Dicker), weight throw (Chris Lockwood), and the 55m HH (Wyatt Gravier).

On the girls side, Bronxville took first in the 1000m (Maddy Williams), the 4×800 (Hope Hershberg, Maddy Stupart, Maddy Williams, and Katie O’Hare), the 4×200 (Anna Saad, Kara Kochansky, Juliet Winiecki, and Mai Ly Reinking), the 55m (Danielle Dragoni), and the long jump (Juliet Winiecki).

The girls finished strong to win the meet by a whopping 90 points, ending with a total of 137 points, while the second placed team (Hastings) finished with just 47. The girls team took first place alongside the overall score of the boys and girls teams combined. The boys teams final score was 155 points, where they won by 63 points to Briarcliff, who scored a total of 92.

The team will compete the weekend of February 12th at the Millrose Games at the Armory in NYC and has state qualifiers coming up soon.
